New Year's Resolutions

Since it's December 31, that means it's time for me to make my New Year's resolutions. They're pretty simple this year.

1. Eat more veggies...ones like my carrot, of course.

See that yellow ball? That was once the carrot's nose!

2. Take more naps. (Really...this one is a "given.")

I'm going to work really hard on this resolution. It'll be tough, but I'm sure I'm up for the challenge. (Hey - like my new blankie? It was a Christmas present. My Grandma made it just for me!)

3. Find ways to get more toys. I need more toys!

4. Get more exercise...by rolling and playing.

5. Avoid baths. I have to accomplish this...at all costs. Noooo more baths!!!

6. Finally, I must continue to get into mischief. After all, that's my job around here.

"Me? I'm just sitting up here, Mom. I'm not up to something. Noooo... I'm completely innocent, of course..." He he he.

Happy New Year!

I'm Still Busy Buttons

With my last couple of posts, I'm sure you're all thinking that I've become a lazy, napping pup, and that I'm not up to much mischief or fun these days. That's not the case. In fact, between my naps today, I dumped over the bathroom garbage again.

Oh, and I also found a piece of old kibble under the fridge and barked at it until Mom came and fished it out. Sadly, she threw away the kibble and didn't give it to me like she was supposed to. (How rude!)

A few minutes ago, Mom totally busted me while I was licking the baseboards in the hallway. (I refuse to tell her why.) When she realized it was too quiet out in the living room, she thought she was going to catch me knocking over the garbage can again. Nope. I was in the hallway, not the bathroom!

Oh, and yesterday, instead of playing with my toys, I kept dragging around Mom's dirty laundry that she put in the hallway. She finally got tired of that and put it in the washing machine. I sure had fun before she did that, though! (You should have seen the horror on her face when she caught me with her undies! He he he!)

I did a lot of fun playing this evening, too. Since so many people like to watch me play and roll, here are a few videos that Mom took tonight. I was playing with my soccer ball and rolling like a crazy dog.

And Mom says to please ignore the Christmas tree box in the first video (that you'll notice she rudely has sitting partially on MY doggie bed...).

Yeah, I had to stop playing 'cause my ear itched. Same thing happened in video number 2!

In this video I pretended I wasn't doing anything 'cause I thought maybe Mom would put the camera away. She won, of course. I couldn't wait her out -- I had to squeaky that toy!

So, yeah, I've been doing lots of napping lately, but there's no need to worry. As you can see, I'm still a very busy Buttons!

My Day

Mom's got this week off because her work is closed for the holidays. That means lots of "Mom time" for me! I'm making good use of the extra time with Mom, too. This is what I did today...

I actually got a little stuck in the couch that time. I ended up way down in the couch and had trouble getting up!

I also buried myself under Mom's blanket. Napped like that for a while.

I got a new reindeer toy and a new candy cane toy today, too. After playing, I napped with them. Obviously.

Mom and I went for a walk this afternoon. I wore one of my new coats that my friend Mattie sent me for Christmas.

I wanted to go visit my neighbor, but Mom kept telling me that she wasn't home. I didn't believe Mom and tried to go over there anyway.

Mom wouldn't budge, though, so eventually, I came back to where Mom was waiting for me on the sidewalk.

But then I tried one more time to go see my neighbor. Mom's so stubborn. How did she know for sure our neighbor wasn't home?!

So I didn't get to go see our neighbor, or at least see if she was home. Instead, Mom and I walked back home. When we got home, I continued doing my daily chores around our house.

Yeah, that's totally me napping. After all, napping is what I'm responsible for!

Later, Mom and I went for another walk and this time she actually let me go visit our neighbor! Mom said our neighbor's car was there, so that meant she was home this time.

I always wait at the side of my neighbor's patio. There's a gate there that I can see through to watch for her to come out to visit. (Oh -- I wore my other new coat from Mattie this time. Cute, huh?)

Our neighbor WAS home this time and she gave me another new toy when she came outside! It's a squeaky reindeer. Don't I have the coolest neighbor ever?!

She gave me lots of my special kibble cookies, too!

Here's how I say, "More cookies, please!"

After we visited for a while, I decided it was time to head back home so I could play with my new toy. I carried it back to our place myself.

After I played for a while, I once again returned to my daily chores.

What a busy, busy day.

He he he.

Busy, Busy Days!

Mom and I went to Grandma's house for Christmas, and we were there for several days. We got back home yesterday. We had SUCH a busy time at Grandma's, and after we got home, well...it was no different. Here are a few pictures from my busy day yesterday...

Of course I did take some time out of my busy napping schedule to play with a toy. (And check out how cool my tail looks here -- Mom caught it mid-wag!)

I soon wore myself out, though, and had to nap with my toy.

You know what I did today? More of the same, of course!

Then, just to shake things up a bit, I switched to my round bed for snoozing.

Mom says we're gonna be pretty busy for the rest of the week...

Poor Carrot...The Finale

Poor, poor carrot. I have no idea how THIS happened...

OK. So maybe I do, technically, know how that happened. I still plan on acting completely innocent, of course.

I think it's working.

Poor Carrot...The Sequel

Here's what my poor carrot looks like these days...

Yes, I got new toys...but I've totally kept plucking the carrot, too. You can probably tell that it's a lot more naked than it was before. There's even stuffing poking out the front now!

Poor carrot. It must be hard to be a fun doggie toy...

Presents in the Mail!

I got super duper excited when Mom came home today because she brought inside TWO packages that the mailman left outside our door. That's right, TWO presents...and both of 'em were for ME!

I was so excited that I started barking at Mom to open those presents right away.

The first box was from Chewy. He had a contest on his blog and gave prizes to anyone who guessed the origin of his Mom's name. I guessed right...so look at what Chewy sent me!

Two squeaky toys! Jackpot! Chewy picked out a perfect prize for me.

The second box was from Pickles. Pickles had my name in Jazzi's Christmas gift exchange. Look at what Pickles sent me...

MORE toys! And a stocking with my name on it! And cookies! And a Christmas collar thingy!! That's a total jackpot, too! How did Chewy and Pickles both know that I'm a squeaky toy addict?!

Oh, by the way, you might have noticed that my new toys from Chewy are in that picture, too. You see, Mom & I had a disagreement about whether or not she was going to take any of my new toys away from me. I won, of course. She is not allowed to touch my new toys.

And I'm very persistent.

So, with two perfect presents in the mail on the same day, you can probably guess what happened to me. I went a little crazy. I'll admit it. Mom couldn't keep up with me and she ended up taking lots of pictures of me that look like this.

I really love my presents from Chewy and Pickles. So, I've got a special message for them...

(For you humans out there, that's me saying "THANKS for the presents!" to Chewy and Pickles.)

My New Santa

I got a new Santa toy tonight. He says, "Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas" when you squeeze his belly. I suppose that's what the real Santa says, too. Although I wouldn't suggest squeezing the real Santa's belly. Don't know if he'd appreciate it.

Anyway, here's me napping with my new toy.

Now, I'd like to point out two things, just in case Santa is reading this...

1. I have not plucked any naked spots on my new Santa.

2. Sleeping with a toy in my mouth is just a sign that I really love that toy. It does not mean that I want to eat Santa.
