Seeing the Big Man

Did you know that Santa Claus was at Petsmart last weekend?  Yep!  I usually go see him there each year...or at least each year since I've lived with Mom.  This year Mom got me these ridiculous Christmas PJs to wear, too.  She said my white furs blend in too much with the Big Man's white furs.

Anyway, the PJs were a bit absurd, but everybody in Petsmart kept giving me lots of attention because of them.  Guess it worked out well.

And then it was time for me to see Santa himself. He played with me for a bit before he picked me up for the photo.

You can probably guess what I told him... I've been a very good, if only slightly ornery, pup this year, and for Christmas I'd like him to bring me toys, cookies, toys, bully sticks, and TOYS!

I sure hope he agrees I'm on the "good" and not "naughty" list... He he he...

Belly of the Beast

Mom thinks it's funny to refer to me as "the savage beast" or "the hound" or things like that just because, well, I'm very NOT those things. She also calls me Crazy Butt a lot, but that one sort of fits since I AM a little crazy and "Butt" is the first part of my name!

Anyway, Mom took this picture tonight and she decided to name it "The Belly of the Beast."

Mom's so weird.

Giving Sarge the Bird

Sarge, from over at Sarge Speaks Out, is having a contest where he wants everyone to give him the bird. Seriously. He said it's time for our blogs to go fowl. (He he he. How could I resist repeating that?!)

Now it's not the dirty kinda bird we're supposed to give him, of course, but just about any other kind will work.

So here's the bird I'm giving Sarge:

That's right...it's a rubber chicken. Mom tried to get me to pose with it, but this is as close as she got because I was busy playing with another toy:

Mom did get this pic when I was playing with the same chicken the other day, though:

And of course there's video...

Thanks for the great contest, Sarge. I hope you like your bird!

Pillow Play

Soft squeakies can make a cool pillow for your chin. And it's a good way to keep your Mom from swiping your squeakies, too.

Just saying...

Review: Pumpkin Patch Treats

I'm on Baby Patches' Tester Team. She's the Chief Kit at Nip and Bones. When you're on the Tester Team you get cool free stuff and you also get to write a review on your blog. That's a "win-win" in my opinion!

So not too long ago, Baby Patches sent me some cookies to try out.

They're Max & Ruffy's Pumpkin Patch treats. Perfect for this time of the year! I gave the cookie a good sniff. They really smelled pumpkin-y!

And of course I chowed down. (Sorry...I was chewing with my mouth open...)

The cookies smelled so good that my Mom actually tried a little bit. She wasn't sure what came over her.

Anyway, I liked the pumpkin treats, but I'm not really a fan of fruits and veggies. I remember how much my former foster sister Sydney LOVES fruits and veggies, though, so I thought maybe she'd like to try these Pumpkin Patch treats, too.

I mailed the cookies out to my former foster family in New Jersey! Here are the girls checking out the package. That's Dixie, Sydney, and Shawnee!

Since I knew Sydney would like these the most, I sent the package to her.

I put a note in the package to tell her that she could share with the other girls, of course. Sydney could smell the pumpkin through the box. Look at her giving it a good sniff! (That's Shawnee's legs nearby. She must have been reading my note to Sydney.)

Sydney got so excited that she actually started LICKING THE BOX!

Here's her silly nomming face! She was really excited about the cookies.

My former foster Mom took a video of the girls eating the cookies, and you can see how excited Sydney gets about them. Now, one very important thing to keep in mind when you watch this video... Sydney is always a lady when taking treats. She's very careful to take them with her lips and to NOT use her teeth. But after a couple of these Pumpkin Patch treats, just watch what she does to her Mom's fingers! She got a little too excited, I think!

The girls loved the Pumpkin Patch treats...especially Syndey. Fifteen minutes after that video was taken, Sydney was still looking for any cookie crumbs that might have been missed on the deck. I think she'd definitely give the Pumpkin Patch treats four paws up!

Thanks to my former foster family for helping me to write this treat review, and thanks to Baby Patches for the yummy cookies that I got to share!

Princess Tent Door

Door?

I don't need no stinking door!

New Water Bowl

My Aunt Katie gave me a new water bowl for my birthday!

I gave it a good sniff, of course.

And I refused to look at Mom when she tried to take a picture of me with the bowl.

My new water bowl says "Spoiled" on it. I have nooooo idea why...

My Birthday...Postponed

Today was my birthday! Can you believe that I'm 11 years old now? I don't feel a day over 6. And if you ask Mom, she'll probably tell you that I don't act a day over 3! He he he.

Anyway, I started out my birthday celebrations by taking an early-morning nap. Mom woke me up way, way too early.

Late this morning, Mom started the true celebrations when she gave me a new TOY. It's a barktini. Cool, huh? I was mesmerized.

Hey, it was 5:00 somewhere...

I got tired of the paparazzi (a.k.a. Mom), so I took my barktini into my princess tent. And it's fitting that I hide out in there today anyway since it was my birthday present from Mom last year. It's the princess tent's 1-year anniversary!

I glared at the paparazzi from inside my tent.

And do you think Mom would leave me alone in there? Noooo. She invaded the privacy of the princess tent!

Eventually, I just gave up and brought the barktini back out where there was more room to roll.

And roll I did. I even rolled and chewed at the same time!

Played a bit too much, though, and I'm still not feeling the best. So, I flopped half-in-half-out of my princess tent for a nap.

And then that's about when things started to go wrong. Yep. Too much excitement and too sicky of a tummy. Mom and I had to make an emergency trip outside. When we came back inside, I just felt horrible, and I looked as pathetic as I felt.

(It was raining out, too, just to add insult to injury!)

Mom decided to postpone the rest of our birthday celebrations since I wasn't doing so well. Tonight she boiled some hamburger and made white rice for me. That's what my vet says to feed me when I have bad tummy troubles.

I wouldn't eat anything today...but I chowed down on that hamburger and rice. Yummy stuff!

The food in my tummy helped it feel a little better, so I played for just a bit. (Yes, I'm chewing and rolling at the same time again.)

But it didn't last too long. I went back to the place I started my day.

And then I just flopped in the middle of the room, too.

Mom says she still has lots of birthday surprises planned for me. She even ordered me my very own birthday cake! But, all that has to wait until I'm feeling o.k. again. I say "GIVE ME CAKE!" but Mom says it would make me feel worse now. So, I have to wait. Pffffft.

Here's a sneak peek for you!

Pathetic, Sick Puppy

Today has been my day to act super pathetic.

I'm an expert at it, too. It's o.k. to act pathetic, though, when you don't feel so good. And when your Mom takes you to the vet.

I tried to act camouflaged so that the vet wouldn't find me, but she did.

I didn't want to be at that vet's office. But who could blame me?!

I've got a nasty ear infection. And I've got an infection in the skin all over my front legs, too. My allergies are the culprit for both nasty infections. Stupid allergies. The vet gave Mom lots of pills and ointments and stuff for me. Mom says it'll help me feel more like myself again soon.

Until then, though, I'm gonna just keep acting pathetic.
