Catching Up

I just realized that it's been a while since I've posted. Sorry about that. Let me catch you up...

Mom and I went to Aunt Katie's house to celebrate Christmas. I found a catnip toy under the Christmas tree.  Mom told me I couldn't squeaky it, but I didn't believe her.

I tried and tried to squeaky it. I even rolled on it!

Mom eventually took the toy away. She said Aunt Katie's cats probably didn't want me to rip up their toy. Hrmph.

Oh -- here's a picture of me in my pretty Christmas dress at Aunt Katie's house.

So after Aunt Katie's house, then Mom and I stayed with Grandma for a few days over Christmas. Then we came home.

Then Mom got sick.

Then we got snow.  Lots and lots of snow.  Too much snow for me to potty in.

Then we got polar vortex, too-cold-to-pee weather.  It was so cold that Mom made me wear my jammies inside our house.

Mom was still sick, too. The good thing, though, was that she had to stay home with me because of the weather. We took lots of naps.

Mom finally got over being sick just a couple of days ago.  Now it's my turn.  I had to go to the vet today because my skin infection came back. Yuck.  Mom says my antibiotics are gonna make it all better, though.

Finally, here's a picture of me rolling on a toy tonight. (Mom finally got a new battery for the camera...)

There's just a little bit of static in the air tonight...

Dear Santa...

Dear Santa,

I've been good. Really I have. OK, so maybe not "good," but you know I've really tried.

Now, no matter what my Mom tells you, I have NOT been messing with the Christmas presents under our Christmas tree.

She claims I've been barking at the presents, rolling on the presents, walking on 'em, and even wiping my eye boogies on them.  How dare she blame me for all of that, especially when she knows you're watching!

Um. Nevermind, Santa. I've really tried to be good, though, and I haven't unwrapped any of those presents (yet). Does that still count as "good"?  I'd really like some Greenies for Christmas. And bully sticks. And toys...

Thanks!

Not My Fault

This year Mom put her M&M men beside the Christmas tree. (Ignore the bicycle in this picture...)

Somehow, the Red guy fell over into the Christmas tree and knocked some ornaments off.

I have NO idea who might have done this.

Seriously. No idea.

OK, so maybe I might have a little bit of an idea of how that happened...

Don't tell Santa.

Seeing Santa

I got to see the Big Man the other day.

I told him I wanted toys, of course, and Greenies and toys and bully sticks and toys and cookies.  Oh, and toys.

Santa asked me if I'd been good. I changed the subject...

Seeing the Big Man

Did you know that Santa Claus was at Petsmart last weekend?  Yep!  I usually go see him there each year...or at least each year since I've lived with Mom.  This year Mom got me these ridiculous Christmas PJs to wear, too.  She said my white furs blend in too much with the Big Man's white furs.

Anyway, the PJs were a bit absurd, but everybody in Petsmart kept giving me lots of attention because of them.  Guess it worked out well.

And then it was time for me to see Santa himself. He played with me for a bit before he picked me up for the photo.

You can probably guess what I told him... I've been a very good, if only slightly ornery, pup this year, and for Christmas I'd like him to bring me toys, cookies, toys, bully sticks, and TOYS!

I sure hope he agrees I'm on the "good" and not "naughty" list... He he he...

Busy, Busy Days!

Mom and I went to Grandma's house for Christmas, and we were there for several days. We got back home yesterday. We had SUCH a busy time at Grandma's, and after we got home, well...it was no different. Here are a few pictures from my busy day yesterday...

Of course I did take some time out of my busy napping schedule to play with a toy. (And check out how cool my tail looks here -- Mom caught it mid-wag!)

I soon wore myself out, though, and had to nap with my toy.

You know what I did today? More of the same, of course!

Then, just to shake things up a bit, I switched to my round bed for snoozing.

Mom says we're gonna be pretty busy for the rest of the week...

Presents in the Mail!

I got super duper excited when Mom came home today because she brought inside TWO packages that the mailman left outside our door. That's right, TWO presents...and both of 'em were for ME!

I was so excited that I started barking at Mom to open those presents right away.

The first box was from Chewy. He had a contest on his blog and gave prizes to anyone who guessed the origin of his Mom's name. I guessed right...so look at what Chewy sent me!

Two squeaky toys! Jackpot! Chewy picked out a perfect prize for me.

The second box was from Pickles. Pickles had my name in Jazzi's Christmas gift exchange. Look at what Pickles sent me...

MORE toys! And a stocking with my name on it! And cookies! And a Christmas collar thingy!! That's a total jackpot, too! How did Chewy and Pickles both know that I'm a squeaky toy addict?!

Oh, by the way, you might have noticed that my new toys from Chewy are in that picture, too. You see, Mom & I had a disagreement about whether or not she was going to take any of my new toys away from me. I won, of course. She is not allowed to touch my new toys.

And I'm very persistent.

So, with two perfect presents in the mail on the same day, you can probably guess what happened to me. I went a little crazy. I'll admit it. Mom couldn't keep up with me and she ended up taking lots of pictures of me that look like this.

I really love my presents from Chewy and Pickles. So, I've got a special message for them...

(For you humans out there, that's me saying "THANKS for the presents!" to Chewy and Pickles.)

Christmas Decor

My friend Oscar asked me to post some pictures of my holiday decorations as part of his holiday blog hop. Truth is, we don't have many decorations up. Mom did put up a tree for us, though.

Mom's weird. She put one of my squeaky toy squirrels in the tree! She says that she did it 'cause of a scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. That's one of her favorite movies. Whatever...just as long as I get that squirrel back soon...

Mom did get me a Christmas basket to put some of my toys in, too. So I suppose that counts as holiday decor.

And finally, here's a picture of me just moments before I tipped the holiday toy box and knocked an ornament off of the tree.

Really, though, what was Mom thinking when she put the toy box there?! Her fault...totally.

Want to join in Oscar's blog hop? Here's the info...

Holiday Poetry

The other day I found out about a Holiday Poetry Contest on a blog written by a doggy who's training to be a guide dog. Pretty cool, huh? His name is Rudy.

Anyway, to enter the contest you just write a poem. And the prize for the contest is...TOYS. How could I pass up this opportunity? My sis Lexi-Lou used to write poems on her blog, so I figured it was about time that Mom helped me out with one, too. And I mean, seriously, I could use some more toys.

So, I submitted my poem over on Rudy's blog, but I figured I'd post it here, too. I sorta like how it turned out. Just remember that this poem is entirely fiction. Honest. It's fiction.

An Important Reminder

Santa Paws is coming
Just as long as we’re all good
So we have to mind our parents
And behave as we should.

If we all can make it
The payoff is sublime
But we all must behave
…Most of the time!

Cookies, treats, and dog beds
Some fun squeaky toys
Oh, you know I love those
And their squeaky noise!

So no misbehaving, please
Or Santa won’t appear.
We just can’t have a repeat
Of what happened last year!

Don’t chase the neighbor
No puking on the bed
We shouldn’t chew on slippers.
Only eat what we’re fed.

Keep those all in mind, of course,
But most importantly,
This year no one potty
On our Christmas tree!

Ta dah! There's my poem. If you want to enter Rudy's contest yourself, just head on over to his blog.

And remember...that poem was fiction. Well, except for the part about me liking toys.

Merry Christmas!

I know it's February now, but it's still Christmas for ME because my Mom got a Christmas present yesterday from her good friends Marc, Lori, and Devan. And you know what they had in Mom's present? A present for ME, too!

It's a cool gingerbread squeaky toy! I pulled it out of the bag just as soon as Mom made the mistake of putting the bag on the floor, within my reach.

We played fetch with my new toy. It was a little hard to see to bring the toy back 'cause the gingerbread man legs were sort of in my face. It was still fun to fetch, though!

I had to roll on the gingerbread man for a while, too, to get him to squeak.

Had trouble with that, though, but it looks like the trouble squeaking was 'cause I was rolling beside the toy and not on it. Oopsie. Anyway, I gave up on rolling on it and squeaked it myself while I rolled.

And you know that playing with new toys in my round bed is a "given." I have to do that. A lot.

Mom kept taking a bazillion pictures of me and I got a little tired of the camera. So I stopped playing until Mom put the stupid thing away, and then I attacked the gingerbread man again. He he he. My "Put that camera away" plan worked!

Thanks Marc, Lori, and Devan for the cool toy! I looove it!
