Little Mischief Maker

This morning I acted all innocent, even with my crazy eyes and crazy hair.

But in reality, THIS happened last night.

Of course it's not unusual for me to dump over the trash.  Mom makes sure nothing dangerous is in there, just in case she forgets to put the garbage on the counter. And all I typically do is scatter the dirty tissues around.

When she cleaned up my mischief from last night, however, Mom discovered three little pieces of an old make-up sponge.

Yep.  Only three little pieces remained.  The rest was nowhere to be found.  You know why?  'Cause it was IN MY BELLY!

That's right.  I ate it.

"There's nothing to see here."

So Mom freaked out.  She called the vet and tattled.  The vet said I'd be o.k. but to watch for the sponge to "reappear" from either end.  Fun, huh?

While Mom was at work today, I...um...found the sponge again. It came out the top. (I'm just sniffing it here.)

Mom censored the gross part, but you can still see some of that sponge in this picture.

I refused to be photographed with the evidence.

Just to add to the fun, I also left Mom a present in the other room.

Mom was thankful that we "found" the sponge so quickly, so she couldn't get too upset with me.

Being full of mischief gets exhausting.

I'm Still Busy Buttons

With my last couple of posts, I'm sure you're all thinking that I've become a lazy, napping pup, and that I'm not up to much mischief or fun these days. That's not the case. In fact, between my naps today, I dumped over the bathroom garbage again.

Oh, and I also found a piece of old kibble under the fridge and barked at it until Mom came and fished it out. Sadly, she threw away the kibble and didn't give it to me like she was supposed to. (How rude!)

A few minutes ago, Mom totally busted me while I was licking the baseboards in the hallway. (I refuse to tell her why.) When she realized it was too quiet out in the living room, she thought she was going to catch me knocking over the garbage can again. Nope. I was in the hallway, not the bathroom!

Oh, and yesterday, instead of playing with my toys, I kept dragging around Mom's dirty laundry that she put in the hallway. She finally got tired of that and put it in the washing machine. I sure had fun before she did that, though! (You should have seen the horror on her face when she caught me with her undies! He he he!)

I did a lot of fun playing this evening, too. Since so many people like to watch me play and roll, here are a few videos that Mom took tonight. I was playing with my soccer ball and rolling like a crazy dog.

And Mom says to please ignore the Christmas tree box in the first video (that you'll notice she rudely has sitting partially on MY doggie bed...).

Yeah, I had to stop playing 'cause my ear itched. Same thing happened in video number 2!

In this video I pretended I wasn't doing anything 'cause I thought maybe Mom would put the camera away. She won, of course. I couldn't wait her out -- I had to squeaky that toy!

So, yeah, I've been doing lots of napping lately, but there's no need to worry. As you can see, I'm still a very busy Buttons!

Mischief Maker

I've been known to be a little ornery. Today I proved that once again.

While Mom was at work, I got a little sick to my stomach. Did I pick a nice, out-of-the-way place to pukey? Nope. I decided to get sick right on the couch...and I even chose the exact spot on the couch that Mom usually sits in.

Mom wasn't amused. But, she knew she couldn't say anything 'cause I was sick. (It's a valid excuse!)

Then, while Mom was cleaning up the mess on the couch, I went into the bathroom and I knocked over the garbage can again. Unfortunately, though, Mom emptied it out after I did that the last time, so I couldn't make too much of a mess. Darn it!

So after Mom picked up that mess, she came back out into the living room and I gave her one of my great, "Who, me?" looks.

She didn't buy it, though, so I knew I had to turn on the cuteness. I snuggled up with my sheep toy in my round bed.

That melts Mom every time. Puke? Garbage can? Cute puppy pose, and all is forgotten!

Oops, I Did It Again...

Mom thought my "garbage tipping" was a phase. She also thought I was over that phase since I hadn't dumped the trash in a few months.

Mom was wrong.

Someone Made a Mess

We had some boxes sitting over near our door so that Mom could take them outside to the recycling bins. They were neatly stacked up...and I mean they WERE stacked up. This is what they look like now:

I personally think that Mom is responsible for the mess. I mean, after all, why would I do something like that?! Since it's just the two of us living here, it just has to be Mom's fault.

Oh... I didn't know that Mom got photographic proof of my shennanigans. Oopsie...

See that huge bag of dog food by the boxes that I made a mess of? I had that half-way across the living room earlier, too. He he he! The bag's bigger than me, but don't worry -- it's empty. And it's pretty fun to drag around...

Garbage Can Woes

Oh, yeah. I dumped the garbage over yet again! That's like the fifth time in the last few days that I've done that. It's just so very easy!

But here's the sad part... Mom said she was tired of my shenanigans and she emptied the garbage can herself yesterday morning. She didn't dump it on the floor like I do. She took the garbage out of the can and put it out where the garbage goes. That means there's nothing in the garbage can for me to dump over anymore. Darn it!

I Want That Bag

When Mom came home from work today, she had a bag with her that was quite interesting. The second she put it down, I dived right in. She kept trying to pull me out of it, but I was too strong! (Or maybe just too determined...) Anyway, I figured out what was in that bag. I SAW TOYS IN THERE. But then she took the bag away and wouldn't let me have them!!!!

She put the bag on the counter in the kitchen, so I tried and tried to climb the cabinets. Then I thought maybe it wasn't up there, so I started digging through everything else that could possibly be a bag of toys. Mom got a little frustrated with me. HE HE HE. That's what she deserves for bringing home a bag of toys and not letting me have any!

Here's what the bag looks like...

Can't you see why I'd want that bag?!

Mom eventually got tired of me being crazy, looking for the bag of new toys. You know what she did? She went to our closet and she pulled a NEW TOY out of there! That's right...brand new squeaky toys in the closet! Oh, this is Heaven! I had no idea that there were toys in there. I wonder how many others she might have stashed away...

Anyway, I went to town on my new squeaky raccoon toy.

I squeaked for a while and plucked at the fur.

Had to roll on it on my back for a bit, too.

I tried something new this time -- playing with the toy on my back while partially under my new doggie bed.

That was a blast!

And playing with a new toy in my flipped-up doggie bed is always a requirement. So of course I did that and squeaked away.

See that black cord? That's for our 'puter! Mom was afraid I was gonna unplug it 'cause I was playing like a maniac.

Mom and I decided that the raccoon rates well for tug-ability.

That black cord is for our TV, not our 'puter. (We have a lot of black cords, don't we?)

Anyway, back to the squeaky raccoon... Mom and I discovered that my squeaky raccoon also works well as a scarf!

Geez, Mom. Enough pictures of me already! I'm gonna be blinded by all of those flashes.

All of the squeaking really wore me out tonight...

Mom also gave me a yummy Greenie tonight. That was awesome! (Sorry, but there's no photos of the Greenie 'cause I ate it way too fast! Mom said I inhaled it, whatever that means...)

Oh...and I did this tonight...

It was a goooood night!

Double the Trouble

Double the trouble is double the fun!

This is what did tonight:

And then I acted innocent, of course.

"Who, me?"

And then I went and did it again!

And I acted innocent again... (After all, that's half the fun.)

It was a double-garbage-tippin' night for me!

That stupid box in the garbage kept getting in my way, though. I had trouble getting to the other stuff in there 'cause of that big box.

And do you see that black cord in the first picture? That's the cord for Mom's hair iron thingy. I got busted when I tipped the garbage over 'cause it made the hair thingy fall off the cabinet. Mom heard the boom, and she came running. Oopsie! I barely had time to assume the "I'm innocent" pose!

Mom just makes the mischief so easy for me...

Bad Mom!

This "diet" thing really stinks. It's ridiculous! You know what Mom gave me tonight?

Did she give me bacon? Nooooo.
Did she give me cheese puffs? Nooooooo.
Did she give me French fries? Noooooooooooo.

She gave me a stupid CARROT! Bleeech!

And that's where the stupid carrot stayed. On the carpet. That's right...I spit the stupid thing out onto the floor. Absolutely absurd that she'd give me such a nasty thing. Bring me bacon!!!

And then you know what Mom did after she ate supper? She left me! That really horked me. (I don't know if that's a word, but it should be.) How rude! She gives me a stupid carrot and then she leaves for the evening?! Just who does she think she is?!

I suppose I should cut her some slack about that, though. She felt pretty bad about being gone and me being alone. In fact, she felt so bad that she brought me...a squeaky fishy!

It's super-duper squeaky, too. I was a squeaking maniac after I got that cool fishy! I played with it inside a box for a while. That was fun. (I'm a creative player.) I tried to play with the fishy in the garbage, but Mom got all horked at me for that. Oopsie. But she did let me play in this box.

Mom said that if I used that picture, then I had to explain that the mess all around me is just my toys and some blankies. I keep pulling toys out of my toy box. The toy box is behind the cardboard box I'm playing in. Yes, I'm messy. He he he.

Anyway...back to my fishy. I had to test out the nap-ability of the squeaky fishy. It scored well for napping.

So I guess I shouldn't be too mad at Mom. I mean, that is a pretty cool toy after all. I guess I can overlook the carrot incident.

Oh, wait... I just remembered something. Mom brought an egg home for me today. She saved it from her lunch just for me. Oopsie. Maybe I shouldn't have been horked... Shhh! Don't tell her I was mad about the carrot...

It's So Easy

I was being awfully quiet tonight. Mom wondered what I was doing when I was off by myself...

Mom's just never going to learn, is she?

Mischief for the Weekend

Mom's been hogging the 'puter, so I haven't been able to be online much for the last few days. I'll try to make up for that with a recap of the trouble I got into this weekend. Not much, but it was still fun stuff.

Let's see...yesterday I knocked over the garbage in the living room and ate part of a tissue. I haven't done that in a long time...but it was just too hard to resist. Wasn't my fault really. Mom should have known better than to put a tissue in there that had pepperoni grease on it!

And then last night when Mom tried to go to sleep, I wouldn't let her. HE HE HE. I made sure that I got into stuff...squeaked toys like crazy...messed around under her bed...chewed my rawhide really noisily...and other stuff like that. It was a blast. But then I realized that I needed to go outside to take care of some business. So, I started barking until Mom got her booty out of bed and took me outside. It was really super-duper cold out there, but I made sure I took my time. Hard to find a good spot to poop when the snow's so deep.

Mom was NOT happy. She kept muttering something about how it was night-night time and that I was in trouble. She said it was 1:30 a.m. and the coldest night of the year, so why was I torturing her? I just told her that I couldn't help it. When you gotta go, you gotta go!

So that was my mischief last night. Today I made it my mission to try to get into stuff in the bedroom. See, there's this shelf in there and it has toys on it. At least I'm sure they're toys. They look like toys. Mom keeps saying they're not, but I don't believe her. Mom put a bunch of stuff on the floor in there, right in front of the shelf. So, it looked like the perfect opportunity to me. I climbed through the pile of stuff and used it to try to reach the toys! Mom caught me each time I climbed, though, and got after me. She even closed the door to the room so I couldn't go in there. What a meanie! I just wanted those toys...

Oh -- I made multiple trips to the kitchen each day this weekend, but sadly, my Bacon Fairy has not yet returned. What a bummer. Maybe he only comes once a year like Santa Paws...
