Dear Santa,
I've been good. Really I have. OK, so maybe not "good," but you know I've really tried.
Now, no matter what my Mom tells you, I have NOT been messing with the Christmas presents under our Christmas tree.
She claims I've been barking at the presents, rolling on the presents, walking on 'em, and even wiping my eye boogies on them. How dare she blame me for all of that, especially when she knows you're watching!
Um. Nevermind, Santa. I've really tried to be good, though, and I haven't unwrapped any of those presents (yet). Does that still count as "good"? I'd really like some Greenies for Christmas. And bully sticks. And toys...
Thanks!

My 12th Birthday, Part 2
I promised you more good stuff from my birthday...well, here it is!
I had my very first, full-fledged birthday PARTY! Mom and I went over to our cool neighbor's house and the three of us had a party. Seriously. And our neighbor really, really went all-out to help us celebrate. (She ROCKS!)
She put up a big banner that said, "Happy Birthday Buttons," and she had two GIANT balloons.
One balloon looks like a doggy. The other one plays music when you tap it. "Ceeeeelebrate good times, come on!"
Since the balloons were up by the ceiling and I have tiny little legs, Mom pulled the balloons down to show me.
On the floor beneath the balloons and banner, our neighbor put PRESENTS.
Lots and lots and lots of presents for ME. And a new doggie bed that's super-duper soft. And a new blanket. And a card that had a picture of a white doggie on it that sorta looks like me!
Mom actually tried to take pictures of me with my hat and cake before we went over to our neighbor's house. So these next few pics are from earlier in the evening.
Anyway, Mom got my cake and my hat from Lainey's Pawtique.
I was not a fan of the hat.
Then I got the hat OFF.
When we got over there, and before we opened presents, Mom tried to make me pose AGAIN with my cake. That was absurd.
I just went back to licking my frosting.
And I nearly got the little "princess" candy piece off of the top of the cake before Mom brought out the stupid HAT again. I started barking at our neighbor, hoping she would help me out. She just took pictures, too. Hrmph.
But after that, it was time to EAT. Mom and our neighbor had chocolate people cake. I had my special Lainey's carob and strawberry cake and some Frosty Paws (doggie ice cream).
Nom nom nom nom nom.
Nom nom nom nom nom. (That's the special plate Mom got me two years ago. It's reserved for birthday cake.)
Nom nom nom nom nom.
After I ate most of the frosting and some of the cake, it was time for me to open my presents.
Played and wore myself out with the first present and had to take a little snooze.
Opening more...
Another one...
Playing and plucking.
Mom has no idea what I was doing here, sitting in all of the tissue paper, but she said I had to post this pic because she thinks it's just hysterical. (Whatever...)
And even though it wasn't HER birthday party, our cool neighbor gave Mom these super pretty flowers. She said they were for taking such good care of the Princess (a.k.a., ME).
It was an awesome, totally cool, super duper party. I got a little overwhelmed, though, by all of the new stuff. We had to leave early 'cause I was so pooped.
Here's my "I'm sooooo tired" face.
These are the nice presents from my neighbor:
And I can tell you for a fact that the new bed is SUPER soft and comfy.
WHAT a day, don't you think???

My Drastic Measures Worked!
When Mom came home from work today, she found a surprise for ME. Our totally-cool neighbor knew how much I loved that blue toy I talked about yesterday...and she got some toys for me that are similar to it! They were hanging in a sack on our door. She even took the tags off so I could get some immediate play action going!
Of course she violated the privacy of the princess tent by taking a picture. You can tell how thrilled I was about that by the glaring look I gave her.

Then she had to take a pic through the tunnel, too. How RUDE!

I kept an eye on Mom by peeking out the end of the tunnel.

Mom was a little worried about me 'cause I wouldn't leave the tent AT ALL for an hour or so. Not for food or anything. (She was NOT getting my toy!) So, Mom put my supper in there with me to keep me from starving to death. That was a nice gesture, I suppose.

Mom took this video of me saying thank you to our awesome neighbor...
OK, so maybe I was actually just after some cookies...but it sure sounds like I'm saying "thank you," doesn't it???
They're actually doggie toys, too, so Mom says they're safe for me to play with, unlike the one I tried to steal from our neighbor the other day (oopsie).
Mom only gave me one of the new toys tonight because she "claims" that I enjoy my new toys more if I them one at a time. (Geez. I get no respect.)

That's right...I went into hiding again. I hid in my princess tent where Mom couldn't get me. There's no way she's taking THIS toy away from me like she did the other one!
Anyway, we played fetch a few times with my NEW blue ball, and it's super duper fun. But after a little fetch, I got kinda worried about Mom trying to steal THIS one from me, too. So you know what I did?

Eventually, though, I realized that Mom wasn't going to try to steal this blue ball from me, and I ventured out of the tent for some rolling, snorting, and squeaking...

My Super Big Prize
A while back I won the grand prize in a contest on the Two Little Cavaliers blog. This was a huge prize, too. I got lots and lots of cool stuff. I'll tell you all about my prizes in another post, though, because today I've got to tell you about just one part of it...
Part of my big grand prize was a special package from Lainey's Pawtique and Bakery. They make lots of yummy cookies and other cool stuff for doggies.
On Monday, a giant box arrived in the mail. Just look at the size of the box! And it had paw prints stamped on the outside, too, so I knew that it was all mine.
In the box was my prize from Lainey's Pawtique! Lainey knows how much of a toy fanatic I am. And I think she also knows that I've had tummy problems lately. So, just take a look at what she sent me...

It's a stuffed doggie that's bigger than me! Yes, I went a little nuts.
I've had a ton of fun with this guy. I like to pluck his ears and his tail a lot.
Mom and I even played fetch and tug with my new toy. It wasn't very easy for me to fetch, though, so Mom sort of threw it and then we both fetched. Here's me tugging on it.
Lainey also sent me some other goodies in the box. Mom played with those when I was attacking the stuffie. I got some yummy cookies, and valentines, and a smell-good ornament with my name painted on it!
Mom tried to get me to pose with all my prizes, but I was a little disgruntled because I just wanted to play. (And I look even more grouchy 'cause I need a hair cut...)

Here are some of the yummy cookies that I got.
Mom wouldn't let me eat many 'cause of my tummy issues, but she did let me have two cookies. They were so yummy that I followed Mom around until she hid the bag of cookies from me. Anyway, here's me eating a bone-shaped cookie (half is already in my mouth).
You know what Mom did? She actually ate two of MY cookies. Can you believe that?! I thought those were doggie treats for ME but Mom ate some of 'em. The nerve of her. She said they were yummy for her, too, so I'm going to have to watch to be sure she doesn't eat more.
Anyway, I went so crazy playing with that huge dog and then eating the cookies and playing some more, that I had to put myself in time out. I went into my princess tent for a while to chill out. (Mom spied on me through the tunnel, as usual.)
And then I ended up doing this for the rest of the evening:
It really wears you out, you know, playing with a doggie that's larger than you are!
Thanks so much to the Two Little Cavaliers for having the contest and for Lainey's Pawtique and Bakery for this super cool, perfect-for-Buttons prize!
