I just realized that it's been a while since I've posted. Sorry about that. Let me catch you up...
Mom and I went to Aunt Katie's house to celebrate Christmas. I found a catnip toy under the Christmas tree. Mom told me I couldn't squeaky it, but I didn't believe her.
I tried and tried to squeaky it. I even rolled on it!
Mom eventually took the toy away. She said Aunt Katie's cats probably didn't want me to rip up their toy. Hrmph.
Oh -- here's a picture of me in my pretty Christmas dress at Aunt Katie's house.
So after Aunt Katie's house, then Mom and I stayed with Grandma for a few days over Christmas. Then we came home.
Then Mom got sick.
Then we got snow. Lots and lots of snow. Too much snow for me to potty in.
Then we got polar vortex, too-cold-to-pee weather. It was so cold that Mom made me wear my jammies inside our house.
Mom was still sick, too. The good thing, though, was that she had to stay home with me because of the weather. We took lots of naps.
Mom finally got over being sick just a couple of days ago. Now it's my turn. I had to go to the vet today because my skin infection came back. Yuck. Mom says my antibiotics are gonna make it all better, though.
Finally, here's a picture of me rolling on a toy tonight. (Mom finally got a new battery for the camera...)
There's just a little bit of static in the air tonight...

Pills and Pukes
My allergies sometimes give me ouchie spots on my skin -- little scabby sores. A week or so ago, Mom decided it was time to go to the vet because I had too many scabby spots.
So we went.
My vet said that I needed an antibiotic to help me with my scabby spots.
You KNOW how I feel about taking pills. Now I have to take an antibiotic pill twice a day on top of my allergy pills! I suppose it hasn't been much fun for Mom, either. We've had pill wars daily for the last week and a half.
The antibiotic upsets my tummy, too, so I've had some pukey episodes. (I even threw up on my neighbor's patio when she was dog-sitting me on Monday!)
Mom's done just about anything and everything to get me to eat. Here's what she did last night:
That's hamburger and rice...with some kibble...with my favorite liver treats...with turkey...and low-salt ham...and liverwurst. Mom just kept adding stuff in there, trying to get me to eat something.
I still refused to eat.
Until the middle of the night when Mom was sound asleep, of course.
I've done my best to act super pathetic during the day, too.
Mom says I have four antibiotic pills left. She's counting down...
And so am I...

Photo Essay: Allergic Princess
Most of you know that I have bad allergies. Well, with everything blooming outside right now, the allergies are worse. Mom's been giving me both of my prescription pills every day.
That means I'm sleepy. Very sleepy. And somewhat out of sorts, too. I started out my evening by hiding in my Princess Tent for a while.
Here's a photo essay (prepared by Mom, staring me, of course) to document my evening...
It's hard to be an allergic pup...

Sick Puppy
I've been a little sick over the last week. Mom made me go to the vet last Tuesday 'cause my leg was all goopy and red and I was super itchy. The doctor said that I had a bacterial infection on my leg and gave me antibiotic pills.
But the problem with the antibiotic pills is that I already had a yeast problem in my ears...so the pills to make my leg all better gave me yeast infections in my ears. NOT FUN. They've messed with my tummy, too, so I'm refusing to eat my doggie food.
And all of my infections are caused by my severe allergies. So my vet increased all of my allergy pills, to help me not get more infections while I'm trying to get rid of the ones I already have.
Mom says I'm a mess.
Last night, Mom tortured me by giving me a medicated BATH. Seriously. I hate baths, and she made me stand there in the tub for 15 minutes, wearing the stupid shampoo! That's supposed to help me not get yeasty infections anywhere else, though, while I'm taking the antibiotics. Still stinks.
Tonight's round of torture involved my ears. Mom said it was time to clean them out again. So, she put me in the bathroom sink...
Too far to jump down, even though I was planning my escape.
She used vinegar/water to clean out the crunchies in my ears because the normal ear cleaner hurts my ears. My vet told her to try this. Yippee. (Yes, that's sarcasm.) After she cleaned my ears, she put more special antibiotic ointment in them.
As soon as I got out of that sink, though, I was GONE...
Yep, that little blur was my hiney, getting the heck out of that bathroom of torture!
Mom's torture lately has involved more than just baths and ear cleanings. She's also poking lots of icky pills down my throat. I refuse to take them. Mom keeps trying to hide pills in stuff, but I'm way too smart for that. This week alone, she's tried to hide pills in:
- lunch meat (chicken, turkey, and roast beef)
- canned doggie food
- potted meat stuff
- tube meat stuff
- liverwurst
- chicken doggie tube food stuff
This pup wasn't born yesterday, you know. So, I just spit the pills out and then Mom chases me down, pries my mouth open, and pokes the pills down there. Then I give her super dirty looks.
I'm refusing to eat my doggie food, too. No kibble. No canned food. Tonight, Mom tried to put the chicken doggie stuff on top of my kibble. I wouldn't even touch the bowl.
And then 10 minutes later, Mom forgot the bowl was there and she kicked it and food went all over the place. He he he.
Anyway, the only thing I've eaten all day is...deli roast beef lunch meat. YUMMY.
And a couple little ducky treats. But I refused to even eat some of those tonight.
Mom says she's gonna make me some boiled hamburger and rice now. That's what the doctor vet suggests for tummies that are a bit ouchy from lots of medicines. And let me tell ya, I've got a lot of nasty medicines right now. Mom had to make a chart to be sure she didn't miss something with all of the meds, the baths, and the ear cleanings.
I've spent my evening tonight doing my best to act pathetic.
It's hard to be a sick puppy.

Pathetic, Sick Puppy
Today has been my day to act super pathetic.
I'm an expert at it, too. It's o.k. to act pathetic, though, when you don't feel so good. And when your Mom takes you to the vet.
I tried to act camouflaged so that the vet wouldn't find me, but she did.
I didn't want to be at that vet's office. But who could blame me?!
I've got a nasty ear infection. And I've got an infection in the skin all over my front legs, too. My allergies are the culprit for both nasty infections. Stupid allergies. The vet gave Mom lots of pills and ointments and stuff for me. Mom says it'll help me feel more like myself again soon.Until then, though, I'm gonna just keep acting pathetic.

Visit to the Special Vet
On Monday, Mom decided to take me to see a special vet because I'm still having some tummy problems. Seemed like it took forever for the vet to come into our little room. I sat in the window while we waited.

Did a lot of people-watching out the window, too. There were a lot of people out there!
The special vet did lots and lots of tests. It wasn't very fun, so I'm not divulging info on those. What happens at the special vet's office, stays at the special vet's office.
Here's how I felt by the time I got to go home HOURS later...
The good news is that the tests didn't show any icky bad stuff. Bad news is that we still don't know what's wrong with my tummy. But we're trying some new things to see if they help.
Mom's been putting this yummy powder stuff on my food this week. She said something 'bout the powder being for any sneaky bugs that might be hiding in my tummy. If my tummy gets better this week, then I'll get another week of powder later on. If the powder doesn't help my tummy, then Mom says we'll try something else. So, we'll see!
I finally recovered from all of the icky tests, though. Mom and I went to see our neighbor tonight and she gave me some squeaky fries! They're super loud, too, so I LOVE squeaking 'em.
Yeah, Mom and I couldn't decide which of those two videos we liked the most so we showed you both!
Anyway, I rolled and squeaked until I had to take a break in my couch.

It's been quite a week, you know.

Mischief Maker
I've been known to be a little ornery. Today I proved that once again.
While Mom was at work, I got a little sick to my stomach. Did I pick a nice, out-of-the-way place to pukey? Nope. I decided to get sick right on the couch...and I even chose the exact spot on the couch that Mom usually sits in.

Mom wasn't amused. But, she knew she couldn't say anything 'cause I was sick. (It's a valid excuse!)
Then, while Mom was cleaning up the mess on the couch, I went into the bathroom and I knocked over the garbage can again. Unfortunately, though, Mom emptied it out after I did that the last time, so I couldn't make too much of a mess. Darn it!
So after Mom picked up that mess, she came back out into the living room and I gave her one of my great, "Who, me?" looks.
She didn't buy it, though, so I knew I had to turn on the cuteness. I snuggled up with my sheep toy in my round bed.
That melts Mom every time. Puke? Garbage can? Cute puppy pose, and all is forgotten!

Icky, Sicky Messes
Someone made a big mess in our house today while Mom was at work. It couldn't have been ME, right? I'm completely innocent...

OK, so maybe it was me...
I got sick today while Mom was gone. And then I got sick again. And again. I actually managed to pukey in 9 different places inside our house. (That's got to be a new record, right?)
When Mom got home and found the mess, she broke out the SpotBot. I supervised.
"You toys doing OK? Don't worry about that SpotBot. It's just cleaning up the pukey." (I actually "got" the hallway in three spots -- there are two cleaned-up ones behind me.)
I'll admit that I was a little worried about Mom being upset with me 'cause of the mess. I hid under the bed for a bit. Took my snake under there with me, too.
But I shouldn't have worried. Mom never got upset with me. She just cleaned up the messes (for an hour) and petted me lots and lots. I think she was worried about me being sick. I did my best to look pathetic. I even hid under the table...looking super pathetic...

Mom cleaned and cleaned and finally got the carpets all nice again. Then Mom decided that there was too much pukey on me, too, and she said that I smelled. I didn't care...wasn't bothering ME. That didn't stop her, though. She took me to the bathtub. I hate that place. Here's a picture of me right before I launched myself out of the tub and ran to hide under the bed.

Sadly, Mom managed to pull me out from under the bed, and she took me back to the tub. She gave me a "sponge bath" on my chin, face, and ears 'cause of the pukey smell. I refused to look at her.
I gave her lots of dirty looks after the sponge bath, too.
Then I went right back to acting pathetic.
The only good thing that came out of the events of the evening was the fact that Mom put me back on the yummy bland diet. YES! Bring on the boiled hamburger and rice!!! So much tastier than dry kibble.
Now it's time to nap again...
