Yet Another Bath

Mom did it again. Yep. Yet another bath. Hrmph.

Tomorrow (Sept. 18) is my birthday. I'm gonna be 14 years old. You would THINK that Mom would cut me some slack with the medicated baths, especially since this is a special week...

Nope. No such luck.

Trust me when I say that I did not go into the tub willingly.

At least Mom refilled the toy box in the bathroom. That provided some distraction during blow-drying. (See Mom's orange hair dryer?)

Had to go back to the toy box to liberate another toy.

More plucking.

After Mom opened the gate and let me out of the bathroom, I'm happy to report that I successfully saved all three of those squeakies from the bathroom.

And that's why Mom has to refill the toy box in the bathroom. I try to save all of the toys from horrible baths.

Christmas Decor

My friend Oscar asked me to post some pictures of my holiday decorations as part of his holiday blog hop. Truth is, we don't have many decorations up. Mom did put up a tree for us, though.

Mom's weird. She put one of my squeaky toy squirrels in the tree! She says that she did it 'cause of a scene in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. That's one of her favorite movies. Whatever...just as long as I get that squirrel back soon...

Mom did get me a Christmas basket to put some of my toys in, too. So I suppose that counts as holiday decor.

And finally, here's a picture of me just moments before I tipped the holiday toy box and knocked an ornament off of the tree.

Really, though, what was Mom thinking when she put the toy box there?! Her fault...totally.

Want to join in Oscar's blog hop? Here's the info...

Who Needs a Door?

Door? I don't need no stinking door! (He he he!)

The other night I even pushed the whole toy box out the side of the tent. Easier to get to the toys that way...

Purple Piggy in the Hydrant

Got a new purple piggy toy in the mail today! Mom ordered it for me from NipAndBones.com. She had trouble getting a picture of me with it 'cause I was carrying it around with most of the pig in my mouth. Just a leg or two would stick out. I did put it down when I went to get some supper, though. See my purple piggy in this picture? It's right there in front of the green duck.

When I was playing with my new piggy tonight, I had a moment of brilliance. Out of the blue I came up with a great idea. And I mean a GREAT idea. Here's the moment it came to me -- can't believe Mom caught it on video!

See what I did? I started playing with my piggy INSIDE my fire hydrant! That fire hydrant is supposed to be a toy box, but the echo in there is awesome. So I just stuck my head inside with the toy box and squeaked and squeaked and squeaked that piggy!

Wasn't that brilliant?! I've never done that before, but it's definitely going to be added to my playtime repertoire.

Of course I did some of this tonight, too...

Had to do it "old school" even with my brilliant new play spot!

Updating the Toy Inventory

It's been a couple of months since I did my toy inventory, so it was pretty out of date. Mom and I decided that it was time to do a new inventory. I was a little tired, so I napped during the first part. Mom could handle some of this without me.

Bedroom
We've got a ton of toys in the bedroom now. Mom even put a toy box in there to try to contain them. (I don't ever leave the toys in the box, though.) So here's the first picture of toys from the bedroom. There are 9 toys in the first picture.

And here's the second picture... 14 toys

And the third picture (told you there were more toys in there!)... 5 toys

Did you notice that reindeer in there, pretending to be a squirrel? Well, Mom found him under the bed after she took those other pictures, so she decided to make him a squirrel for now. Crazy woman.

And here's the fourth picture of toys from the bedroom...

OK, so those aren't toys. They are, however, a wonderful example of just how well-trained I've got my Mom. I've got a rawhide...a filled rawhide stick...and a bully stick...all at the SAME TIME. I can just take my pick of what I want to chew on. Aaahhhh...it's the good life.

So that's a total of 28 toys in the bedroom now.

Office
Here are the toys in the office:

That's easy to count...3!

Bathroom
I've started to accumulate more toys in there. I take 'em in to play with while Mom's in the shower. (It's my job to hold down the bath mat when she's in the tub.)

Two frogs and two ducks...4 toys in the bathroom!

Hallway
Looks like we ended up with more toys in the hallway than last time, too. There are 8 of them there now.

Dining Room
This is sorta between the hallway and the living room, so toys wind up here all the time.

7 toys in the dining room.

Living room
This is the point in the new inventory when I decided to get up from my nap and supervise the process. We had to take several pictures to get all of the toys in the living room inventoried.

Picture 1: 17 toys

Picture 2: 9 toys

Picture 3: 9 toys

Picture 4: 11 toys, 1 cute doggie

Picture 5: 11 toys

That's a total of 57 toys in the living room!

Fire Hydrant
Technically, the fire hydrant is in the living room, but Mom and I decided to tally these separately. Before we could inventory the toys, though, we had to get them out of the hydrant. I helped.

"Get out here, toys, so we can count you!"

And these are the toys that were hiding in the fire hydrant... 15 of 'em.

So that's all of the toys. While Mom tallied 'em up, I inspected the pile in the living room.

She sure took a long time to add them. I was forced to nap again.

"Are you done YET?!"

The Final Count
In January when I did my first inventory, I had 68 toys. That wasn't nearly enough. If Mom added all of our numbers right this time, though, I've now got...122 toys. Woo hoo!!! I had no idea that I had that many now. That means I've gotten 54 NEW toys just since January.

Am I getting spoiled by my new Mom?! Nooooo... He he he.

After all of that inventory work, I think I need to take another nap.

Home Sweet Home

Mom's finally home, and I'm home now, too. Whew! It was a long couple of weeks for both of us 'cause of Grandpa being so sicky and then passing away. Mom said his people funeral was yesterday, so now we're both home to stay.

I had sleepovers at Molly's house a few times over the last two weeks. Molly was nice to me. She shared her toys with me. She's got a tree trunk of squirrels just like me!

Molly shared her doggie bed with me, too. I loved to nap in her bed.

Mom packed one of my doggie beds, so I napped there sometimes, too. Molly didn't like my bed, though, so she didn't snooze in it.

Molly's Mom took both of us for walks each day. That was cool. I'm not used to walking that much, so I was pooped! In this picture, I was taking advantage of the cool tile right inside the door.

Molly was pooped after some of our walks, too. So we were pooped together.

Don't worry, though. I still saved some of my energy for my sneakiness. I've GOT to be sneaky! I had to investigate lots of stuff at Molly's house...even if it meant burrowing under a doggie bed to get there...

There was one HUGE downside to my most recent sleepover at Molly's house. Molly's Mom thought both of us girls needed a bath! Augh! I hate baths...

Molly's not a fan of baths, either.

I tried to escape, but sadly, the tub was too deep for my little legs. Bummer.

Mom was very happy that I was so clean when she picked me up last night. As for me, I'd rather stink...

So Mom got all sorts of reports about how good I was on all of my sleepovers. Unfortunately, though, the report from the most recent sleepover wasn't so good. I was pretty comfortable at Molly's house this time, so I sort of resorted to some of my old antics. Molly's Mom told my Mom that I...
  1. Dumped over Molly's toy box.
  2. Barked like crazy at a person working in a drive-thru window.
  3. Discovered my love for "kitty crunchies" from Piglet's litter box.
  4. And stalked Piglet like crazy. (Sorry, but I just had to know what that kitty was up to at all times!)
Mom says that we're gonna have to talk about my behavior... HE HE HE!

My New Fire Hydrant

Ta dah! Got a super big box in the mail!

At the Sci-Fi Pawty I won a gift certificate for DogToys.com. Mom helped me use it to order some stuff! Since I have so many toys, Mom and I thought that maybe I should get another toy box. We found this super cool one...

Isn't that awesome?! It's a toy box...but it's a fire hydrant! (A note to my doggie friends: no peeing on my toy box, please.)

Mom got me a squeaky toy sheep, too! It's cool.

But even though I had a new hydrant and a new sheepy, my toy radar was still going off like crazy when I was standing there beside the hydrant. I knew that there was something inside that toy box. I just KNEW it. So I barked.

And I barked.

And I barked some more.

But Mom rudely refused to open the hydrant. So, I took matters into my own paws. I jumped on it and knocked it over.

When the hydrant fell over, the lid came off. That let me get at what was inside!

Sure enough. There was a HUGE rabbit toy in there!

That rabbit was practically as big as me. I played with it for just a bit, but then Mom rudely took it away from me. She says that we got that toy for my cousin Hoss and he doesn't need me to pluck the fur off or get it slobbery for him. What?! A toy comes to MY house and Mom says it's not for me?! That's just not right!

So then Mom put a ton of toys in the toy box and I thought maybe she hid that new Hoss toy in there, too.

Naturally, I knocked it over once again and started pulling all of those toys out.

Sadly, I couldn't find the rabbit. I'm still looking for it...and I won't rest until I find it! I'm very persistent. Just ask Mom. He he he.

Oh -- and before I forget...BIG Buttons thanks to DogToys.com for donating the gift certificate for the Sci-Fi Pawty! Thanks for my cool new not-to-be-peed-on hydrant!
