Warning Sign

Mom got a big envelope in the mail. The stamp didn't look like a USA stamp...it had the Queen on it!  And that "Air Mail" sticker was quite a clue, too.  Turns out that this surprise mail came from our friend Kathleen who lives all of the way over in Scotland!

Kathleen sent us a "Warning" sign to hang from our doorknob to warn our neighbors. Mom laughed and laughed and laughed when she read the sign.  It says:

STOP
Do Not Open This Door
Dangerous Shih Tzu Inside
Has Killed Squeaky Toy

Mom put it on our door right away.

Our door is properly adorned now.

Kathleen said the sign was "So Buttons," and Mom and I have to agree!  I've definitely...um..."taken care of" quite a few squeakies!

Mom wanted me to pose with our new sign, but I was busy taking a nap. I didn't cooperate.

This is my "Seriously, Mom...leave me alone!" face:

Thanks so much, Kathleen!  We love our new door sign (even if I was grouchy and refused to pose with it...)

The Closed Door

You know what this is?

That, my friends, is a closed door.  Mom did that.  You may wonder why on earth she would close off part of our house.  Well, she claims it's because I did this...

And this...

...in that room.

Now I ask you, is this fair?  Should I really be blocked from entering and "enjoying" part of my house???

We've established in the past that I should get rights to 50% of this house since it's only Mom and me here.  That means I get 50% of that closed off room, too.  And besides, Mom only uses it to store stuff in.  So it's perfectly fine in my opinion if I choose to use the room for...other...um...uses...

I've given Mom my best looks of pure innocence, but she's not buying it.

*sighs*

As soon as I get a step stool and opposable thumbs, that room is all mine...

There's No Way Mom's Leaving...

Mom thought she needed to go do something, and she was going to just leave me here all alone at home.  I disagreed with her plan.

Like the tactic I used?

I'm a Princess who needs adequate attention.  When Mom thinks she's gonna leave and I think she shouldn't...I just plop down in front of the door!

Ain't nobody getting past ME.  Mom's going to learn one of these days...

Door?

I don't need no stinking door!

My Big Plan

I decided tonight that Mom didn't need to go anywhere after she got home from work. She needed to just spend the evening at home with me. Makes sense, doesn't it?

So here's what I did...

That's right...I went and took a nap right smack in front of our door. Mom couldn't open the door at all with me snoozing there, so she was stuck inside.

Unfortunately, my plan had one minor flaw. I didn't anticipate the draw of the cookies. Yes, Mom lured me away from the door with cookies. And then she went to her meeting.

But at least the cookies were yummy.

Oh -- Mom says to ignore the stuff all over the door mat, except for that dark spot by my face. That's where I drooled. (Must have been dreaming of cookies...)

Box at the Door

I got in a little trouble tonight. I got all excited because there was a box at the door. You can even see my wet paw prints all over around the box. (My paws were drenched 'cause it's pouring down rain outside tonight.)

The reason I got in trouble, though, is the fact that the package was not at OUR door...

Mom said it was the neighbor's package, not ours. And apparently the neighbor probably wouldn't want me checking it out like I do. Oops...

Stay Home, Mom!

Want to make sure that your Mom can't go someplace and leave you home? Here's what you do:

That's right...just plop down right in front of the door! She can't open that door with you in front of it, so she won't be able to leave. That means she's staying home with you.

Note: unfortunately this tactic only works if you're big enough that your Mom can't pick you up and move you.
