Kibble War

I put myself to bed early tonight. Really early.

It wasn't 'cause I was tired, either.  It's because of THIS:

That, my friends, is a bowl of plain old kibble.  I'm refusing to eat it.  For years I've trained Mom to doctor up my kibble with canned dog food, beef broth, hamburger, rice, etc.  For some unknown reason, however, Mom has been cutting back on the good stuff.  For the last two days, she has only given me nothing but PLAIN OLD KIBBLE.

This is unacceptable.

So, tonight I refused to eat my supper and I put myself to bed early.  There's a method to my madness, though.

You see, when I go to bed, I always get a "night night cookie."  That's right...a treat for going to bed.  So since I was refusing to eat my kibble, I decided to just go to bed for my night night cookie instead.  I was hungry, after all.

Brilliant plan, if I do say so myself!

I barked at Mom from the bedroom until she brought me my cookie.  (That way she knew I was serious.)  Then I scarfed it down!

It was yummy!

This was really a brilliant move on my part.  Totally got Mom to give me a cookie and avoided the plain old kibble.

And of course I gave Mom my "GIVE ME MORE COOKIES" look to try to get another one out of her.

Sadly, that didn't work as well.

And now I need to point out something a bit unusual in the very first picture I posted tonight.  Here it is again:

See that pink spot in my chin furs?  Here's a zoomed-in version:

That's a scrap of one of the magazines I've been shredding under Mom's bed.  She caught me red-handed tonight.  Oopsie...

At least Santa already came...and I already got a cookie tonight...

Guard Dog

Mom spent a couple of hours out on our balcony this morning.  It was pretty dirty.  Lots of dead plants out there from where Mom attempted to "garden" last year.

Anyway, I hung out with Mom while she was cleaning.  It was my job to guard the balcony.  There's this little gap between the balcony wall and the balcony floor.  I used that gap to spy on the people who walked on the sidewalk behind our building.

And I'm sure those people knew who was boss, too, when they heard this ferocious little doggie barking at them from up high!

Now, that bottom picture makes my butt look big. It's important for you to know that I'm laying on my side.  Seriously.  It's just a bad angle.  My tushie isn't really THAT big...

It Ain't Adding Up

We got a box in the mail yesterday. You know what boxes have in them? Squeaky toys! And sure enough...Mom pulled this squeaky fishy out of the box and gave it to me.

But here's the problem...the box was WAY bigger than that fishy. I put the fishy on top of the box in the picture below, just for comparison. There HAD to be more than just that fishy inside that big box! I looked and looked...

and I looked and looked...

and looked some more...

But I couldn't find more toys. I know there had to be more toys in that box. So I gave Mom a dirty look.

I barked at her a bit, too.

The only saving grace here for Mom might be the fact that my birthday is in less than a month. Maybe, just maybe, there are a whole lot of squeakies in my future...

That Darn Little Person

I totally forgot to tell you about the downside to my trip back home to Grandma and Grandpa's house! You know that cool chicken toy that I just got? Well, when I was at Grandma and Grandpa's house, there were lots and lots of people there. And that one little tiny person was there, too. I think Mom said his name is Jadon. Anyway, you know what he kept doing? The little stinker kept stealing and squeaking MY new chicken toy! When he came down to my house to visit, he kept stealing my toys, too. I'm the one who got in trouble, though, 'cause I was barking at him. That time he was just sort of sitting on the floor and scooting around. This time, he was up and walking.

Well, you can just guess what happened when the little Swiper stole my chicken at Grandma's. Yes, I barked...and I'M the one who got in trouble again! It's just not fair!!! I'm not used to seeing little tiny people like that, and especially ones who steal MY toys. Can't blame me for barking...

But Mom says I have to be nice to him 'cause he's my baby people cousin. I'm supposed to share...or something like that. Doesn't he have his own toys, though? Why's he always stealing MINE?!

Mom told me that the tiny people's first birthday is gonna be later this month. She's gonna get me a squeaky chicken to give him. Mom thinks that will be funny. But I think that maybe if he's got his own chicken, then he won't steal mine so much...

Guard Doggie

Mom and I ran into our neighbors from upstairs when we were out for a potty break tonight. I decided that I needed to be a guard doggie, so I barked at 'em. That's right...I sure did. Scared the bejeebies out of the little kids. I even took off after a couple of 'em, barking like a mad dog. I was ferocious! Mmmwwwaaahahhaahaha! (That's my evil laugh.)

I sure showed those kids how much I like them running and banging around upstairs. Mom said she was embarrassed by me...but I think she enjoyed it just a bit, too.

Got in Trouble Today

We had people come to our house this afternoon and it sort of freaked me out. I...um...sort of barked at them all the entire time they were here. Mom got a little upset with me 'cause of that. In my defense, however, the little tiny person kept stealing MY toys!

Mom says that the visitors were actually part of my new family, though, that I just hadn't met yet. Oops. I guess I was a little rude if that's the case. Mom says that they were my Uncle Matt and Aunt Kiana and my people cousins Shelby, Jacob, and Jadon. Uh oh...

I'll try to be nicer next time I see them. I've got a pretty big family now -- it's gonna take me a while to meet everyone I guess!
