Anipal Photo Hunt #14: MOM!

The theme for this week's Anipal Photo Hunt is "MOM!" We're supposed to introduce you to our Moms or Mr. Moms.

Took me a while to find a photo 'cause Mom and I don't have many pictures of us together. Mom says she'd rather just take pictures of me 'cause of my cuteness. He he he.

Anyway, here's my Mom...

And here's a picture of Mom and I and my sis Lexi-Lou when I met Mom and Lexi for the very first time. That's right...it's a pic from my Gotcha Day, almost one whole year ago!

So that's my Mom. Here are some other anipals' Moms...

My Gotcha Day Anniversary!

Today's my 6-month Gotcha Day Anniversary! I came to live with my new forever-and-ever Mom on November 26. I guess you're not really supposed to celebrate at only 6 months, but Mom and I decided that we've had a lot of "sad" lately and we needed some "happy." So...

Mom surprised me today by getting me my very own cake!

It says "Love Ya Buttons" on it 'cause Mom loves me. Cool, huh? It's a carob cake, so it's doggie-safe. And it's got some special-for-doggies yogurt icing on it, too.

Here's a close-up of my cool cake.

I sneaked a couple of licks of the icing when Mom was trying to take pictures of me with my cake. Can't blame me, though...it was too tempting!

Mom finally cut me a piece of cake and I chowed down.

Sorry...I forget to close my mouth when I chew...

I licked that bowl clean!

It was super yummy cake. Mom tried a tiny bit and she didn't think it was too bad. Well, at least the icing part was o.k.... She said the cake part tasted funny. She's nuts, though, 'cause that cake was delicious!

This is my "I want more cake!!!" face.

It was a great Gotcha Day Anniversary celebration! I got some cool toys in the mail, too. I'll tell you about those later. Mom had some toys to give me today, but she said that those had to wait since I got others in the mail. Bummer! I guess I have to wait for those.

I played like crazy and chowed down on cake. All of that partying wore me out!

Thursday Torture

Got a box in the mail today...but there was a problem. Look what was in it!

No toys. No cookies. Just keep-fleas-away stuff! Isn't that terrible?! Mom says that I'll be happy to have that stuff when the weather gets warmer. I say BOO. If there's a box, it should have fun stuff in it! Not stupid flea medicines!

But the torture tonight didn't stop with the box of flea stuff...

Tomorrow is my 4-month Gotcha Day anniversary. Shouldn't that mean toys for me? Not according to Mom. She says that tomorrow is her birthday, so we are celebrating that instead. Then, she did THIS to ME:

How RUDE! I don't want to wear a stupid birthday party hat! I put up with it for a little while, but only because Mom distracted me with toys.

More toy distractions...

But it didn't take too long before I had enough of that stupid hat. So, I flung my head around.

At least the hat wasn't on top of my head anymore...

Stupid flea stuff and stupid party hat. Way to torture me, Mom. Totally ruined my Thursday!

Oh -- Mom learned a valuable lesson tonight. If she squeaks a toy over the camera to try to get me to look at the camera, then something like this can happen:

Nice action shot, huh? I just really wanted that toy!

It's My Gotcha Anniversary!

Friday was my Gotcha Day Anniversary! I've lived with my new Mom for three whole months now! I came to live with her on Thanksgiving just last year. That's when my foster sis Shawnee and my foster mom droved me all the way to Illinois. Time sure flies!

Now, don't you think that a 3-month anniversary like this should mean a new toy for me???

Well, I guess Mom agreed! Tonight I caught her rummaging around in our closet, where I suspect she has a secret doggie toy stash. And then all of the sudden...TA DAH! NEW TOY!!! She gave me a cool new squirrel toy that's longer than I am! No stuffing in it, so it's easier for me to find those squeakers, too!

I was having a whole lot of fun playing with the squirrel, so Mom had trouble getting a good picture. I refused to stop playing to "pose" for her. She should expect that, though.

The squirrel is pretty long, so it's very tuggable!

I got tired of Mom flashing the camera at me, so I finally just posed and got it over with. You can tell I'm not thrilled about stopping my play for Mom's silly camera!

Happy 3-month Gotcha Anniversary, Mom!

All About Me

Ah...time to talk about my very favorite subject...ME! But you know what? Now that I think about it, I might not be my actual "favorite" subject. I do really love doggie toys. And chicky stuff rocks, too. And getting into mischief. And napping. So maybe I have several favorite subjects...

Anyway, my happy story starts one month ago today. That was my Gotcha Day! November 26, 2009, is the day when Mom adopted me and I came to live with her in Illinois. I used to live in New Jersey, so Illinois is a lot different. I've adjusted fast, though. Things are good here. I'm getting thoroughly spoiled, and if you ask me, that is just how it should be.

I haven't had the best life before now, so the extra spoiling is super important. I don't really want to talk about the bad stuff, though. Things are happy now, so why go over all of that nasty, icky stuff? If you want to read about all the stuff I went through in my 9 short years, please check out my story on the Companion Critters website. Companion Critters is the rescue group that saved me...twice. Yeah, you read that right. TWICE. Pretty sad, huh? I ended up in a foster home twice and none of it was MY fault. I tried my best to be a perfect little doggie!

My foster home was pretty nice, though, so that was a good thing. My foster sister Shawnee has a bloggie and she talked about me a few times. That's how Mom learned all about me and decided that I had to come live with her here. Want to read some of Shawnee's posts about me?
You see...Mom really didn't have a chance when she started reading about me on Shawnee's bloggie. She says that I was just too cute and my story really touched her heart. I guess I just have that way with people!

My sister Lexi was pretty excited about me coming to live with her, too. She wrote all about me on her bloggie, too.

So there ya go. One month ago I came to live with my forever and ever family. I had lots of other families before this, but Mom keeps telling me that that AIN'T happening any more. This is where I'm staying forever. No other families for me from now on...just this one. NOBODY else can have me, Mom says. This is MY family and my forever and ever and ever one. That's such a good feeling, you know? I'm tired of living with so many different families. It's a relief to know that Mom's gonna be my only Mom for the rest of my life. Ahhh...

And I'm really getting spoiled rotten with the doggie toys here. You won't hear me complaining! Getting pretty good at training Mom, too. He he he...
