The Pond

Mom and I haven't been for a walk around the pond lately 'cause we both have bad allergies. But Mom said that the pollen wasn't as bad today since it rained this weekend, so off we went!

It was sunny when Mom came home from work, but then this happened...

And this...

We didn't get rained on, but the clouds sure looked cool. And guess what? It's sunny again now!

Anyway, the walk around the pond was pretty cool. Mom let me sniff lots of stuff, and I really love doing that.

I sniffed this tree...

And I sniffed these benches... (If you listen to the video, you can hear the crazy geese at the pond!)

I'm a very good sniffer, don't you think?

Took Mom a while to get a picture of me walking that wasn't just a picture of my booty. She had to sneak in front of me when I stopped to sniff.

And take a look at these dandelions. They're actually taller than me!

It was a good walk, but pretty uneventful. We saw the neighbor kids on our walk around the pond, though. Mom was super proud of me, too, 'cause I was really good with them. I didn't bark at them at all!

Walking around the Pond

It was a beautiful day today, so when Mom got home from work, we headed for a walk around the pond by our house. Here's a picture of the pond. You can almost see where we live in this picture...almost... Its waaaay over there, behind that building.

Here's a good "action shot" of me. I was hurrying to catch up with Mom after I stopped to sniff that orange thing.

Walking and sniffing...

Mom tried to trick me to get me to pose for her. Yeah, like that's gonna happen. I was too excited about sniffing everything. No time to pose!

I had to check out the "Dog Station." That's a very important stop.

Sniffing some more... (I did a LOT of sniffing.)

The best part about this next picture is what you can't see. I'm actually sniffing a dead fish! It was just sitting on the grass. Mom thought I was sniffing goose poop and she tugged on my leash to get me away from it. She had NO idea that I had my face in a dead fishy! She figured it out once I moved, of course, and then she was totally grossed out. That was hysterical.

Here I am walking away from the dead fishy and hoping to find another one. I didn't find any more fishies, but I did run into a huge pile of doggy poop soon after the fishy. Mom didn't seem to want me to sniff that, either.

I finally did stop to pose for Mom, but I waited until the very end, of course, and I stopped in some mud instead of in the nice grassy spots. That concrete is the parking lot by our house, so this was the very last chance Mom had to take my picture!

I loved going for that walk tonight! Now I'm just gonna dream of that dead fishy until I get to go back to the pond to sniff it again...

We Went for a Hike

My former foster sis Shawnee is always going on hikes and posting all of her adventures on her blog. I always wanted to go with her when I lived there, and I did actually get to go once!

Anyway, my luck changed today. My new Mom took me for a hike! She said that since the weather was a little warmer, we should take advantage of it. I had to agree. YES!

Mom says that I shouldn't actually call it a "hike" 'cause it was just a walk around the pond by our house. But it's the farthest that Mom and I have walked since before my sissy died. It's been too cold and snowy out for us to walk very far. And I only got to walk around the pond once before.

I was really excited to go on our hike 'cause there was so much to sniff over there! There was a TON of poop, too. Most of it was from very, very big doggies. Mom was upset about that 'cause dog parents are supposed to pick up the poo. Somebody with a big, big doggy is very lazy I guess!

Mom kept getting after me for sniffing the poos. I was just checking all of it out, though. There was a lot of goose poop, too. I was close to finding some squirrel poo, but Mom made me stop my poo sniffing.

And let me tell you, I was a sniffing machine. I was just all over the place -- it was SO exciting to check out that pond again! I hope we get to go again soon...
