Thankful Thursday: Dog Beds

It's Thankful Thursday, and today I'm thankful for my selection of dog beds and blankets and rugs and stuff.  You see, I've got Mom well trained when it comes to my comfort.  I've practically taken over the living room with my stuff.

I've got doggie beds that I sometimes only stick my hiney in.

And rugs I roll on while also rolling under my beds...

My blankets and rugs make me practically camouflage, too.  That way Mom can't see me when I roll like a crazy dog.

And then there's my Princess Tent that I like to hide in sometimes.

And other blankets for when I want to act super pathetic to get more treats...especially after going to the GROOMER...

Then when all else fails, I just take over Mom's bed in the bedroom.  This is particularly fun when she has to leave for work in the morning.

Mom says not many dogs have a bazillion beds, rugs, and blankets like I do.  So, for Thankful Thursday I'm thankful for my creature comforts.

Weekend At Grandma's

Mom and I spent the weekend at Grandma's house!  We went and visited my Great Grandma a couple of times, too.  I love snooping around her house -- there's a lot to investigate!  And there's a certain tree in Great Grandma's yard that I like to poop under, too.  Perfect pooping spot.  (You know what I mean.)

And even though I have my license, Mom refused to let me drive on the trip.  Booooo!

Anyway, we had a busy weekend.  I need some time to recover.

I love visiting Grandma and Great Grandma, but there's no place like home.

And there's nothing better than being home with your doggie beds and your super large collection of squeaky toys, of course...

Living Room Furniture

Mom took this picture of me earlier today because she thought I was funny, rolling and rolling away.

Here's a close-up -- a belly shot for ya. (Yes, my legs are always delicately crossed when I roll.)

Ignore that black wire. That's just our cable cord.

I napped for a bit after I rolled.

So after Mom looked at these pictures on our computer she came to a strange realization. When you see something every day, you sort of ignore it. But sometimes when you look at a picture, it can hit you over the head.

I'll show you that first picture again to see if you can figure out what struck Mom as being a little odd...

If you counted correctly, you'll note that I now have FIVE dog beds lined up in a row. And a princess tent. And another dark brown bed that you can't see -- it's on the other side of the red one.

Yep. That's right. There are SIX doggie beds and one doggie princess tent in that part of the living room.

And that "part" of the living room is actually about half of the room because our living room isn't very big.

I've conquered the living room. Oh, yes. I have Mom trained well...and I think it's obvious just who is in charge here...

My New Sofa

At one of the Twitter parties, I won a gift certificate to Nip and Bones from MizzBassie. Cool, huh? So, Mom and I decided that I could use some furnishings for my princess tent. We ordered a doggie bed that looks just like a little sofa.

I must admit, though, that I got a little confused when it arrived. You see, I'm used to always getting TOYS in the boxes that come to our house. Not doggie beds. So, naturally, when the huge box arrived, I assumed it was filled with toys.

And it was a BIG box, too. I went a little crazy.

As soon as Mom got the sofa out of the box, I immediately "checked in the edges for change someone might have dropped." (He he he.)

OK, so maybe I wasn't checking for change. What I was actually doing was pulling the cushion out of the couch because I thought for sure that it was a toy. It looked like some of my toys...and toys come in boxes...so it HAD to be a toy!

Yes, I attacked the new sofa.

I refused to leave the cushion in the sofa, too. I kept pulling it out and trying to squeaky it. Mom even caught me on video trying to squeaky and pluck the sofa cushion. (There was actually a squeaky UNDER the cushion that kept squeaking, too, so that just egged me on!)

I even rolled on the sofa and cushion just like I roll on my toys.

Eventually, I went and got another squeaky and played with it inside my new sofa. (Just like I play with toys in my round bed!) The sofa makes a nice echo chamber for squeakies. I had fun doing that until Mom realized that I was plucking the sofa instead of the toy. Oops.

I refused to leave the cushion in the sofa for most of that first day we had it. When it was on top of the sofa, I buried toys under the cushion, too. And then I even buried myself!

Since then, Mom has managed to convince me that the sofa cushion is actually a cushion and not a squeaky toy. So, I leave it in the sofa most of the time. But I still like to stick toys under it sometimes.

And I love to play in it, too, of course.

But most of the time now, my new sofa is used for napping.

It's a comfy couch!
