The Standoff

Mom and I are having an argument. Let me know who you agree with here...

THIS is an EMPTY water bowl:

Why is it empty? Because MOM refuses to refill it. Isn't that rude?! It's my water bowl that's in our bedroom. I like to drink lots of water at night. Is it my fault that I'm thirsty then? I think not!

Mom says that I should just use the water bowl in the other room during the day and that I shouldn't drink so much at night. Again...not my fault that I'm thirsty at night.

You know why Mom's refusing to refill my bedroom water bowl? You want to hear her flimsy, weak reasoning? She "claims" that she's tired of taking me out to potty in the middle of the night. She thinks it's unreasonable that I need to potty at 3:30 a.m. But when you gotta go, don't you gotta go?! Isn't it her duty as my Mom to let me potty when I need to potty?!

So in a nutshell...

1. Not my fault I'm thirsty at night.
2. So it's also not my fault that I have to potty at night, either.
3. And what's the problem with taking me out at 3:30 a.m. anyway?

I'm gonna get dehydrated if she keeps this up. Refill my water bowl, Mom!!!

  2. Oh BUttons
I have the same water bowl problem.I dont have one in the bedroom but she cant seem to keep the kitchen one filled up. I have to flip it around sometimes to get her to come running!!

I dont get to go outside at night. My mom likes her sleep and she is NOT about to get up to take me out, she says I can hold it!!! So I have no choice. I am with ya on keeping the bedroom one filled though.

  4. Even being a cat, I can tell you that it's INHUMANE not to fill your water dish. I think you have a complaint and should go all the way to PeTA if it's not filled ASAP.

  5. I'm torn. I like my sleep so I imagine your mom does too, but it's important that you have good water intake for your kidneys, etc. I wonder if you would want less water at night if you ate canned food for dinner. I don't know if that's an option, so it's just a thought.

  7. Well I have two big huge water bowl that my mom calls my swimming pools and I have water at night. Momma says it is cos I have two illnesses which make me drinks an awful lot but my Pops put down special mats for me at night because I can't hold it in. So I am very lucky but if I slept in my Mommas room I don't think I would get so much water at night but if it is hot I think we should always have water around.
