You know that story of "The Princess and the Pea?" Well, I've written my own version. I call it, "The Mom and the Kibbles." Here it is...
The Mom and the Kibbles
There once was an adorable, always-right Shih Tzu named Buttons. Buttons lived with her Mom, and even though she had only been with her forever family for a year and a half, Buttons had her Mom pretty well-trained. (She discovered early on that Mom had a weak spot for sad puppy eyes, and that really helped speed up the training.)
Each night at bedtime, Buttons got cookies. These were special kibble cookies because Buttons ate prescription doggie food for her bad allergies and tummy troubles.
Even though the cookies were kibble pieces, they were still VERY yummy as far as Buttons was concerned.
One night, Mom didn't sleep well. All night long she kept dreaming that she was sleeping on rocks or that things were poking her in the legs. She flip-flopped through the night, trying to get comfortable.
As Mom got out of bed the next morning, she thought about her funny dreams. She pulled back the bed sheet to investigate and discovered...KIBBLES!
Buttons hadn't eaten all of her kibble cookies at bedtime, and since Buttons liked to scoot to the middle of the bed during the night, the kibbles had followed right along. Those rocks that Mom dreamed about were actually the kibble pieces poking her!Mom was not happy. Not happy at all. In fact, she banned all kibble cookies from the bed from that day on.
Now I gotta go practice my sad puppy eyes to see if I can get my kibbles back in the bed each night...
We've had something similar happen with Greenies!
ReplyDeleteMiss Buttons, I KNOW there is no way your mummy could resist you.
Aww, that was cute. I am sure with those eyes, that you can get kibbles again!!

Reminds me of the Princess and the Pea...but with a pup. :)
ReplyDeleteBOL! Girl is always rolling over on my toys in the bed. The cats are always bringing in mice & birds...she's dreading the day she rolls over on a dead mouse. XP
ReplyDeleteBOL, thank goodness momma didn't have a dream about eating stuff

Furst the squeaky balls be banned from the bed, now bedtime snack kibbles. I think you need to werk harder on the sad puppy eyes. (Pee Ess - my super sekrit captcha werd be BILES - let her roll ofur on some of that BOL!)

ReplyDeleteHa - I just realized that you mentioned the Princess and the Pea, right at the top of your blog post. I guess that's what made me think of it! ;)
ReplyDeleteButtons: you better practice those sad puppy dog eyes! You may need to go for 'depressed puppy dog eyes' since Mom keeps banning all your stuff from the bed! And anyway, how are you supposed to know that the kibble cookies would follow you into the middle of the bed and make Mom's dreams strange?!

Hee hee, poor mom. I ope she gave the kibbles back after her dream tho!
ReplyDeleteOh no! No more Kibbles in the bed. I can't believe Buttons forgot to eat the last two, I'm sure it was just a big understanding. Give her another chance.
